Seattle is the most populous city in the Pacific Northwest Region of the United States, the most populous city in Washington State, the capital of King County, and the 22nd largest city in the United States by population. Major interstate highways, Interstate 5 and Interstate 90 run through the city. The Seattle metropolitan area is also home to the headquarters of Microsoft, Boeing (until 2001), Starbucks, Amazon, and Costco.

Suburbs and Metropolitan AreaEdit

Seattle is surrounded by a large metropolitan area, the Seattle-Bellevue-Tacoma MSA, with a population of over 3 million residents. Some suburbs of the city include Everett, Lynnwood, Shoreline, Edmonds, Woodinville, Montlake Terrace, and Everett to the north, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah and Sammamish to the east, and Tacoma, Federal Way, Burien, Seatac, Renton, and Des Moines to the west.
