The Strait of Gibraltar.

Straits are bodies of water that separate two pieces of land. Straits are the exact opposite of an isthmus, which connects two pieces of larger land.

Appearance[]

Straits can be seen best when from a satellite view. Straits, such as the one in the photo, can be bent, strait, or curved depending on the shape of the land it is separating.

From the mid 1400's meaning "not liking the same sex". Ex: being gay
